Long before stepping onto a stage, Jett was the kid sitting beside her Papaw with a guitar, soaking up every lesson she could. Inspired by Chuck Berry and determined to learn "Johnny B. Goode," those early moments sparked a lifelong love of songwriting and performance. Years later, surprising her Papaw by performing that very song became one of her proudest memories—a reminder that music has always been about sharing moments with the people who matter most.

At a young age, Jett's life changed after a serious basketball injury left her with a dislocated knee, a fractured femur, and months of rehabilitation. Unable to play sports, she poured that same competitive drive into music instead. She bought a Green Day American Idiot chord book, learned every song cover to cover, and used it to teach herself the foundations of guitar. Once she understood the patterns, she kept chasing the next song, the next technique, and the next challenge. That determination—to learn whatever she doesn't already know—has shaped nearly every part of her life. 

Music eventually took her beyond the practice room. Before joining Velkro, she performed with other bands, toured, and experienced life on the road—an experience that only strengthened her desire to build something lasting. When a late-night Facebook post searching for a vocalist appeared on her screen, one detail immediately caught her attention: the band's crow logo. After years of friends calling the crow her spirit animal, it felt like too much of a coincidence to ignore. She auditioned just days later and was offered the role on the spot.

While audiences know Jett as Velkro's frontwoman, much of her work happens behind the scenes. Alongside Matt, they help guide the band's direction by organizing projects, building the brand, planning long-term goals, and turning creative ideas into reality. If she doesn't know how to do something, she'll learn it. Whether that's physically creating merch, filming content, designing artwork, editing videos, building a website, or developing the band's business strategy, she's always looking for the next way to move Velkro forward.

Driven, endlessly curious, and just a little feral, Jett believes success comes from persistence more than perfection. For her, Velkro is more than a band—it's a creative family built on trust, friendship, and a shared belief that the best music is still ahead. She's already been on the road before, and she's determined to get back there, this time with Velkro.
